About Me

My name is Evan Berman and I love exploring new places and cultures. I’m fortunate to have been exposed to the benefits of travel at a young age. I have been interested in personal finance for years and have always viewed living and saving as going hand in hand. I created this blog to help people get more out of their lives– whether that be travel, savings, entertainment, or a mixture.

I have been to 29 countries and 45 states. My favorite travel destinations have been:

  • Poland, seeing the Wieliczka Salt Mine and the concentration camps Auschwitz and Birkenau, visiting Warsaw and Krakow, and of course tasting the delicious potato vodka!
  • Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, visiting the tallest building in the world (Burj Khalifa), the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and Ferrari World, and tasting some of the best food and drink the Middle East has to offer
  • Dublin, Ireland, during the St. Patrick’s Day Festival, tasting incredible food, drinking excellent beer and whiskey, and seeing many traditional Irish singers and dancers

Several close friends have asked me questions such as “How do you find out about all of the cool events that you attend?”, “I have extra cash, what should I do with it?”, or “where should I go next on vacation?”. This blog is driven partly by a desire to answer these questions and partly by my interest in:

  1. Giving you the tools to better save both for the present and for retirement, so that finances are not a subject of worry,
  2. Informing you of opportunities to save money simply by utilizing discounts or earning cashback/transferable points on the purchases that you already make, and
  3. Helping you understand the vast world of travel and entertainment and making it more accessible for all.
