Cramped but Short: Review of SAS CRJ-900 BGO-SVG in Economy

After a wonderful time in Bergen, Norway, it was time to head back to Oslo. As I had to retrieve my passport and missed my original flight, my only choice was to take a one-stop flight with a connection in Stavanger Airport.
The flight from Bergen to Stavanger was operated on a small CRJ-900 with Star Alliance member Scandinavian Airlines (SAS). This flight recap is a part of the larger Nordic Expedition. For more on this trip, follow these links:

Pricing:
Flight: I booked a one-way flight from Bergen to Oslo via Stavanger for 1546 NOK $151.86. This was purchased the day of, due to missing my originally scheduled flight since my passport had been lost.
Earnings: 50 United Miles
PQF: 1
PQM: 50
Booking:
I booked on SAS’s website. This was a bit over 1 hour prior to the flight. As I mentioned, I had to rebook another flight so I had very few options to choose when booking this flight. With all these factors, $151 is not an unreasonable price to pay. Due to the timing, no award seats were available at this time.
Lounges:
There are no lounges in the domestic terminal of Bergen Airport. Instead, I had a wonderful lunch of traditional fish soup while I waited in the airport.
The dish cost $28.57, but it was well worth it– I’ve not had a better meal in an airport. The fish was fresh, the flavors were powerful, and the dish was filling.
Recap:
The boarding occurred in two parts, split by rows. I boarded from the back of the plane. Due to row 23, it was slightly quicker to board from the back.
As mentioned above, this plane is a CRJ-900. These planes are what Delta often fly on short domestic routes. This is a small plane with little in the way of legroom and– more importantly for my purposes– overhead compartments. As such, I had to store my backpack beneath the seat in front of me, rather than above.
The CRJ-900 we flew has a setup of 2-2 seats in economy.
Meals:
While SAS is a full-service carrier, the flight was less than an hour long. As such, there was no meal service or drinks.
Sleep:
I did not sleep on this flight.
Experience:
The flight was short, for which I was thankful, given the lack of legroom. I was in the aisle seat which allowed for a bit more room.
The flight itself was easy and I was soon in Stavanger, awaiting the flight back to Oslo.
Customs:
As this was a domestic flight, I did not experience customs.
Recap:
The next step on the Nordic Expedition was heading back to Oslo from Bergen. I took a quick flight to Stavanger Airport before heading back to Oslo. This flight was quick though on a cramped airplane and I was on my way back to Oslo shortly thereafter.
